Junior college small forward signs with Weber
(Apr 22)
Marcus Carson, 6'4", 190 lb small forward from Oakland played his freshman year at SUU and then transferred to Paris Junior College this past season. He will be a junior at WSU next season. Carson's sophomore year he helped guide the Paris Dragons to a 30-7 record as well to claim the Region XIV title and reach the NJCAA Tournament.

Jonathan Hall is a 6'5" 212 lb shooting guard from Miami, Florida. He plays for South Plains Community College located in Levelland, Texas. Hall's team beat SLCC for the championship where he was named to the NJCAA All-Tournament Team along with SLCC's guards Brian Green and DaVell Jackson. Hall was also named the William B. French MVP of the Tournament. Hall averaged 15 ppg this year to finish out his junior college career.

Damian Lillard, 5'11”, from Oakland, CA. Lillard is considered to be one of the top five point guards on the West Coast (according to scout.com). Lillard, will play his senior season at Oakland High. He is said to have had offers from many other bigger schools but has decided to go with Weber and has cancelled recruiting trips to those schools.

Clearfield senior gives verbal

Local Clearfield High senior, Nick Thompson, 6'9" gave a verbal committment to play basketball for the Purple & White this past Wednesday. He narrowed down his choices to WSU and Pacific. He then called Coach Rahe with the good news. Thompson: "He was really, really excited. He was yelling and all that. He was ecstatic."

Last season Thompson put up 15 points and seven rebounds per game and was second-team all-state. He will likely sign his letter of intent with WSU November 14th.

"I've been leaning toward Weber State, so I did not see any reason to wait any longer," Thompson said. "I wanted to commit before my senior season started so I could put a lot of focus into my last season of high school basketball."

They are Nick Thompson, a 6-9 190 lb forward from Clearfield High, Terrance Dent , a 6-1 185 lb guard from Mullen High (Denver, CO), and Damian Lillard, a 6-1 165 lb guard from Oakland High (Oakland, CA).

Rahe: "They each bring a set of skills to our program which will make us better. First off, they are all high character individuals and are solid students in the classroom. That is as important to us as their playing skills. They each fit nicely into our program and will be excellent teammates."

Stats:
Lillard as a junior: 20 pts, 4 assists, & 4 rebs.
He has been selected as a preseason honorable mention high school all-america pick by The Sporting News.
Thompson as a junior: 15 pts, 7 rebs.
Dent as a junior: 14 pts, 5 assists, & 4 rebs.
