David Patten returns
(Jan 13)
wsubball: What is your major and when do you think you will finish school?
Patten: I am a broadcast news major and plan on graduating as soon as possible. Hopefully in the summer, maybe in the fall.
wsubball: Can we expect you to be back on the Weber State News any time soon like you were last year?
Patten: I will not be a part of Weber State News. That was a tremendous group to be a part of, but my time has come and passed. I am just going to focus on finishing my degree for the next little while.
wsubball: As a part of the staff on this year's team, what will you be doing and do you have a job title?
Patten: My job title officially for the team this year will be "hang out guy", I will be there to do whatever the team needs at any time.
wsubball: Will we see you on the bench?
Patten: I spent enough time on the bench during my career at Weber, I think the stands are more comfortable.
wsubball: What do you think of this year's team at this point in the season? Any thoughts on any of the players?
Patten: This years team has worked very hard and is continuing that through the start of league play. They are extremely well coached and will be until at least 2012. They suffered through a tough schedule and made it to league play in a very similar position to the 2007 team. They got a great win against Portland State and are going to continue to play their hardest to get the always difficult conference wins.

wsubball: According to the Standard-Examiner it says you would like to go back to Europe to continue playing professional basketball. What would you like to do after that? Any non basketball career plans for the future that you know of?
Patten: I've never been the type to plan things out too far in advance. After my degree I will make decisions for the future. Basketball is an option later, as well as using my communication degree, or going into a completely unrelated field. I have no idea.
wsubball: Can the fans expect to see any posts from the General on the WSU Fans Forum any time soon?
Patten: I have to catch up with the fans forum. I might make another appearance or two.
wsubball: Lastly, where is your championship ring and do you wear it?
Patten: The ring is at home. It's a little flashy for my taste, maybe one day when I'm that guy I'll wear it.
