Lance Allred graduated from Weber State in 2005 where he was a 2 year starter for the Wildcats. He played his freshman and sophomore year at the University of Utah.
Where has Lance been since WSU?
Since playing for Weber, Allred competed at the 2005 Portsmouth Invitational Tournament, he played with the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2005 Reebok Vegas Summer League, he played overseas in Spain, France and Puerto Rico. Last summer he played for the Boston Celtics in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. This past Fall before the D-League season started, Lance played for the EA Sports team where they traveled around the U.S. playing colleges. They made a stop at USU where they beat the Aggies 86-81 which pleased many of the WSU faithful.
Lance: "It's been a long three years since college. I've been a lot of places that would have made a lot of people quit."
Allred was born in Montana and moved to Salt Lake City, Utah when he was 15. He attended East High School where he was teammates with Talmadge Eyre. Eyre also played basketball for Weber State (2001-03). The 6-foot-11, 260-pound Ivan Drago look-a-like was up to 275 at WSU where he dominated the Big Sky.
Lance's red-shirt year WSU won the Big Sky title and went 16-0. His junior year WSU lost in the semifinals to the eventual champion EWU. His senior year, he led WSU to the conference champioship game where the 'Cats ended up losing because Jamal Jenkins took the final shot of the game to win at half court with almost 3 seconds remaining in the game.
Before spending the last two years in the D-League, Allred played in France. He suffered a knee injury that required surgery. He didn't play much for the Stampede last season, but started all 38 games this year before getting the call.
Achievements with the Idaho Stampede
Lance started all 38 games this season. His 16 and 10 helped guide the Stampede to a record-setting 18-game winning streak. He was an All-Star this year and won the inaugural H.O.R.S.E competition at the D-League’s Dream Factory Friday Night during NBA All-Star Weekend.
Lance's College Stats:
17.7 ppg, 12 rpg, 51% from the field, and 60% 3-pointers. His senior year for the Wildcats he scored a season high 32 points and his best rebounding game was 21. He was the 3rd leading rebounder in the nation, only Paul Milsap (12.4) and Andrew Bogut (12.3) had more boards.
Lance made the WSU record books for most rebounds in a season.
